May 16th, 2019

 

Monday, May 20th at 7:00 pm there will be a meeting for all current 8th -11th grade students interested in participating in summer football, volleyball, fast pitch, and boys and girls basketball. Please bring your parents to receive information on these sports. Coaches will be present to hand out calendars and discuss their programs. We hope to see you and your parents at the High School the 20th!

 

Seniors - the schedule for May 17th senior presentations have been posted in the office.  Please check it and make sure you are here at least 5 minutes prior to your assigned time.  If you have any scheduling issues, please see Mr. Gale or Miller as soon as possible.

 

Want to be a part of welcoming the new freshman class in the fall?  Are you a current Sophomore or Junior?  If your answer to both of those questions is "yes", then we have the opportunity for you.  See Mr. Curtis or Mrs. Melton for an application for Link Crew or if you have any questions.

 

FBLA meeting today during the first 5 minutes of lunch. All members please get to Mrs. Aune's room quickly so we can get the meeting done and you can go enjoy the community BBQ.

Ms. Page's Annual MS and HS Art Show will be happening on THURSDAY, MAY 16 FROM 11-1PM during the community barbeque.  Please bring in art by tomorrow if you want to have it in the show.  Students do not have to be enrolled in Ms. Page's classes to participate.  Come in to the art room and fill out your display card and sign your artwork!  A range of art media 2d and 3d will be accepted.

 

 

Congratulations to our tennis team at sub districts on Monday.  In singles play: Jadyn Johnson placed 3rd and Justin Koopman placed 4th.

In doubles play:  Lauren O’brien and Haley Ryckman placed 3rd and Jesus Equivel Lopez and Erik Castenada placed 4th.

They will play again Friday and Saturday for a chance to make the state tournament.

Key Clubbers! Be sure to come to one of our last meetings of the year! Don't forget, Key Club meeting today at lunch in Mr. Gale's room.

 

Top 3 placings made it to regionals next Friday:

Will Vernam won high jump with a 6'5" jump. That is a huge 5" pr that puts him within an inch of our last state champion and school record holder Porter Romm.

Kevin Segraves won discus with a 126'  throw, which is 7" away from his pr and he also got 2nd in shotput.

Cameron Vaughn, David Brashear, Cody Doss, and Will Vernam ran their new best time of 48.1 s in the 4x100 and placed second.

Christian Edwards placed 3rd in the 300m hurdles with a 55.3s run.

Lili Lott got 2nd in the 400m (.4s away from a pr) and 2nd in the 200m with a pr (28.3s).

Alyssa Stanley over jumped one of her rivals to take the last spot in triple jump and she placed 2nd in long jump with a 13'11" jump (1" from 1st place).

Karsyn Wallace placed 3rd in 300m hurdles with a 57.1s run.

Prom is this Saturday! Tickets are $20 now or $25 at the door. It is masquerade themed, and masks are welcome and wanted - they just can't cover your entire head. If you need a mask, Mrs. Melton is selling them for $3 apiece in the library through today.

 

 

 

In honor of National Pay It Forward Week challenge yourself to do just three acts of kindness per day this week. Today, in the commons, outside or the hall pick a piece of trash, no matter how big or small and throw it away. It's easy and it doesn't cost a thing to show appreciation and pride in our school!

Hey Coyote Dance Fans! Prom is Saturday evening and there's a whole week of spirit events and clothing schemes to get you ready - check the walls for posters and info. Be there at lunch today to find out who won the pie day competition and keep it in your mind to come to the dance and show off your moves!

 

Attention Drama Club Members:  Drama Club:  Tuesday’s meeting has been rescheduled to during lunch in Ms. Webber-Gray's room today.  Please attend!

 

Any current senior who will be attending CBC the school year 2019/2020, and is interested in becoming a Student Ambassador, pick up

an application from Ms. Custer.  They are due by Tuesday, April 30th.

 

Are you familiar with the idea of Paying It Forward? Paying It Forward can be simply defined as an unexpected random act of kindness and it doesn't have to cost a thing. In honor of National Pay It Forward Week challenge yourself to do just three acts of kindness per day this week. Today, say "hello" or smile at someone you don't know well, it just might make their day.
