About Us

The Columbia School District is located in Walla Walla County at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers and encompasses the Burbank area, Charbonneau area to the east, and the Wallula area to the south. The district is small enough to maintain a rural atmosphere, but only eight miles from the largely populated Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick and Richland).

Because of this unique, somewhat suburban nature of the district, the school serves as the heart of the community. It is the educational, social, and recreational center for residents and clearly the hub of the area. A visit to the athletic fields which surround the school on a spring evening clearly demonstrates the opportunities which are provided to individuals of all ages and the support and interest which exists in the community.

Surrounded by rolling hills and plains of grain fields, fruit orchards and grape vineyards, the Columbia School District includes the rural agricultural areas that make the region one of the prime agricultural and wine-producing regions in the nation. While agriculture provides most employment, other industry and business includes Boise, Inc., Tyson Foods, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

This is a recreational paradise with boating, fishing, water skiing, hiking and other activities readily available. With the Tri-Cities a short driving distance from Burbank, one is offered most of the amenities of a large city while afforded the rewards of country life.
