Happy “Pie” π Day.
What is pie day?
It is a day to celebrate and honor the most recognized mathematical constant in the world. The concept of pi is important to mathematics because of its relationship to the circle; it is a constant representing the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter
Some fun facts about pi:
Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits past its decimal.
Pi is the 16th letter of the greek alphabet
Albert Einstein was born on pie day, March 14, 1879.
And for all you Star trek fans, In the episode “Wolf in the Fold,” Spock foils the evil computer by commanding it to “compute to last digit the value of pi.
Enjoy “pie” day!!
